Sleepygrass is perennial grass that grows to a height of 5 ft. with a spread of 1.5 ft.. The stem is erect; the leaves are grass-like, shiny green, rough, long and narrow; the flowers are pinkish-white, occurring in featherlike inflorescences, appearing in spring and summer. It is native to New Mexico, Colorado, Texas and Arizona, prefers light, well drained soils in an open, sunny position, and is drought and frost resistant. |
