Elymus cinereus--Basin Wildrye is a cool season grass. It grows in single clumps with blossoms held high above the coarse foliage they will catch the slightest breeze. Best appreciated when planted in lawn areas, where it will provide a focal point for many year. The foliage consist of wide green to blue-green blades that reach a height of 32" to 40" tall. The inflorescence appears in June and reaches a height of 4' to 5' tall. Basin wildrye tolerates a wide range of soil and light conditions. |
